Su Grossman gift • Out of the Ashes reprint • Cultural Legacy Project fundraising campaign
ICCC alum Su Grossman made a generous donation to support our Cultural Legacy Project fundraising campaign even before the campaign had officially begun. Here's her explanation:
'I met Jack [C. Bernard Jackson] when I was a student in UCLA's Dance Department... 1966. Simply put, he changed my life (forever the better) in more ways than I can begin to express. Elaine Kashiki, Jack's assistant for many years, said to me something to the effect that 'I think many people would lie down on railroad tracks for him.' I would have.'
'Out of the Ashes' reprint.
We are pleased to announce a limited-run reprint of ICCC's highly acclaimed photographic production history, 'Out of the Ashes.' Copies of the book are available for purchase. A portion of the purchase will be donated to the Inner City Cultural Center. For purchase information, send an email to info@innercityculturalcenter.org and put ‘Out of the Ashes’ in the subject line.

Your Tax-Deductible Donation Helps Us Build for the Future
Your donations will support the year’s annual C. Bernard Jackson Celebration of our 60-year legacy, the publication of the Commemorative Souvenir Yearbook and our annual April event with the Beloved Community Initiative at UCLA.
Additionally, we continue our pursuit of a temporary space to house, inventory, catalogue, digitize and preserve 60 years of archival materials and the completion of our Strategic Business Development Plan for the Cultural Legacy Project, which is the design for the new C. Bernard Jackson Memorial Library and Cultural Center we plan to build in South Los Angeles. The latter will be the first-ever fully functional multicultural, multi-ethnic and multi-racial cultural center and library of this type.
It will be “A place where you can check art out or check art in™”, thus fulfilling the vision of Jack Jackson who envisioned a publicly accessible place where the contributions of Los Angeles-based artists, arts organizations and other cultural workers could be preserved and celebrated.
